It’s been said that nearly every piece of plastic ever manufactured is still here, on the planet, with us. The news about plastic pollution is not good, in fact, it’s dismal. The bright colors I use in these pieces come from the palette of commercial packaging. These colors belie the seriousness of what happens when these products are used and disposed of. These sculptural pieces are made using coiled basketry technique, with surplus wire or waxed linen thread, disposable or discarded plastic objects.
